Les started BelVan in 2011 after being in the civil/structural engineering and design world since 1994. From an early age Les was interested in home building and in business in general, starting his first business when he was only 16 years old.
In the early 1990’s he completed a Carpentry Program at Kwantlen Community College and worked for two years as a framer’s helper in White Rock, BC, before going back to school to get a certificate in Architectural and Structural Design at Kwantlen Community College.
For the past 25 years Les has worked for various engineering, consulting and construction management companies working his way from a structural designer to managing various departments. The last 15 years of which he spent managing construction projects in and around Alberta.
Since starting the company Les has realized his passion for collaborating with clients as their projects take shape, and his knowledge of the materials and trades have earned him a reputation for delivering high quality projects on time and within budget.
Les loves spending time with his young family, and spends his evening and weekends, along with his wife Stacey, getting his three children to their various sporting and dance events. He enjoys coaching and watching hockey and lacrosse, playing golf, as well as reading when time allows.
